Abstract

Water providing and managing is a such vital issue, since water is a human basic needs. There’s still limitation of capacity due to several factors in PDAM as one of Government big effort, whereas the demand seems even bigger and bigger related to resident increasing, social level improvement, villages/ town expedient development etc. PAB-UT (Pengolah Air Bersih Unit Terkecil, “smallest unit” water treatment) is one alternative for above mentioned solution, a potential business opportunity from entrepreneurship point of view, and a challenge inovation. PAB-UT is also a form of ‘independent water providing’ that makes easier for Government’s duty favour. The market plan that defined on demographic based, economical & social level and other factors brings the segment to mid-high level citizens who stay in unserved PDAM districs. This business inovation idea has to be followed with a professional management planning such like cooperation economic enterprise or other, instead of local Government board. The calculation result showed that this PAB-UT is recommended economically for small community with maximal approximately 250-300 units (family/ house). This arrangement costs lower due to energy power/ electric and investment sharing than the conventional way where each family provides water in their own effort. For answering the new demand and market, the new business units of PAB-UT should be initiated for next 250 units per potential area. With a bit different market penetration, PAB-UT could be implemented for existing or new plan of settlement, therefore it might be also a potential cooperation with residence developer.
